Brunswick and Company
“Brunswick and Company” was one of the early Brunswick organizations - a successor to” E. Brunswick and Company”, formed by a brother who split off from J.M Brunswick and Brothers in 1871. Brunswick and Company produced tables from 1877 to 1894. In my estimation, this would be an earlier table- late 1870’s to mid 1880’s.
This table is a highly inlaid model - Maple, Mahogany, Walnut, Rosewood and Tulipwood are all set into a figured Elm background. There is decorative inlaid skirting along the bottom edge of the cabinet and “pagoda style” legs.
The table is 8 foot size - the 46” x 92” playing area version. It has a 4- piece, 1” thick Vermont Slate bed, Rosewood railtops and ivory diamond sights.
It is shown here unrestored. Original finish has been removed and clear oil applied to bring out the wood colors, but no repairs or restorations have been done.
